What's the weather / temperature / dress code?

Click here to check the local weather.

The venue stays fairly comfortable but I always recommend layers just in case.

Dress code is business casual and comfortable.

What time is the Celebratory Dinner? Is it a fancy dinner? Where will we eat?

Dinner is at 6pm on Wednesday.

I recommend your outfit from the day or something that feels celebratory to you.

We will be in the pavilion and gardens of the Vandiver Inn.

On Tuesday, whomever is in town is welcomed to meet at River City Public House at  6 or whenever you roll in.

On Thursday, you are welcome to join us for dinner at MacGregor's Restaurant. www.macgregorsrestaurant.com

Are we having breakfast together at 8:30 or should I eat beforehand?

I would recommend eating ahead at your B & B as they will serve a delicious breakfast and then there are snacks, tea, coffee and lunch at the event.

We will begin promptly at 8:30am.

It’s recommended that you arrive early so that you can get situated.

How does the Friday Mastermind work?

The Mastermind will be 2.5 hours in the morning and 2.5 hours in the afternoon on Friday.

This is a hotseat mastermind meaning that we will be all together and one person will be in the ‘hotseat’ at a time.

You bring a question/challenge/problem/issue to the group and you will have a team of peers to help you solve this challenge.

Right now, you will have a shorter Mastermind on Thursday to help you see how this process works.

In the morning on Friday, I will walk you through a process to help you discern what to bring to the group.

A couple things to keep in mind are that you will present your challenge and then you will basically step back from commenting.

The group can ask you clarifying questions but the point is not that you get into a tit for tat conversation, this wastes time.

People will share what has worked for them, resources, ideas, brainstorms, etc.

I have seen major issues be resolved in this format.

Your time will be recorded and typically someone will take notes, too but that is up to you.

Then when your time limit has ended, the next person in the group will go.

You will have ~20 minutes in the hot seat.

This is the most important time to stay in the room and be available for yourself and your peers.

Is there a virtual option?

Unfortunately, no.

Providing a virtual option requires dividing our attention and time between the people in the room and those on Zoom.

If you cannot make it due to illness then we can reschedule you to the event March 29-31, 2023

Can I bring my partner or a colleague?

Feel free to reach out to support@sapparisolutions.com to determine if there is availability for this.

We are happy to accommodate when we can.

This person would need to go through the registration process to ensure that we have materials and supplies for them but we can expedite that as needed.

Note: We will reach out to you to book your room at the Vandiver in order that you are registered.

What Can You Expect?

  • Please arrive on Days 1- 3 rested and ready. We will have full days!

  • I will provide snacks, lunch and dinner.

  • If you are staying at one of the local Bed & Breakfasts, breakfast will be provided at your accommodations.

Weather – The weather will be in the 70’s and low chance of rain. You can check it out here An umbrella and light jacket are always helpful.

What to Prepare

Your Tools

I will be providing a workbook, paper, pens, highlighters BUT you should plan to have a dedicated device (ideally your computer), cell phone and whatever other tools help you to get work done. We will be implementing while we are together.

Your Calendar or Planner

Planning helps a business identify its goals, according to Management Study Guide. Preparing for the future allows business leaders to consider the impact they would like the company to have and to find a way to get there.

Communication

For others in your office (ie. your family & staff) take time to communicate your availability on these days. We go deep. We typically do this in a safe, non-distracted environment. Plan ahead so that you will be in the right mind and space to receive as well as give at your best level.

What to Bring

If you have been to Momentum Live, any Monthly or Quarterly Vision Strategy Sessions, the Battle Board Workshop or if you have done Strategic Planning on your own, then please bring at least the most recent planning/notes you have. You don’t have to re-invent the wheel with your planning. And it is also helpful to have when we review what you have accomplished.

During the morning sessions we are largely unplugged but the afternoon is reserved for implementation. Bring what you need to get to work on the plans that you make.

Wear the clothes that you feel represent the business you are creating. And, be sure to have layers. The space is very comfortable that we are in but it is always helpful to be able to add a layer if needed.

Don’t forget business cards. There will be lots of ways to share your contact information at the retreat but often good, old fashioned business cards are helpful. Bring a few just to be on the safe side.

Your business is calling you. I am so glad you answered!
